Compress an image to around 1 MB.
Set a 1 MB target, choose JPG or WebP and create a smaller image on your device. Fyleap balances output quality with the requested size and clearly shows when the target cannot be reached.
Compress an image to 1 MBHow to get a smaller result
- Start with JPG or WebP when a predictable file-size target matters.
- Reduce the maximum width and height before lowering quality aggressively.
- Use the 100 KB, 500 KB and 1 MB presets as a quick starting point.
What a target means
A target is an attempt, not a guarantee. Some detailed photos cannot reach a very small size without visible quality loss. The tool keeps the smallest useful result it finds and tells you if the requested target was missed.
Why is PNG excluded from a size target?
PNG is exported losslessly. It is best for graphics and transparency, but it is not suited to predictable photo-size compression.
Are my images sent to a server?
No. Compression and resizing run locally in the browser. Closing the tab clears the working files.
